Boeing 787
Dreamliner:
a (r)evolution in aviation
The TUI Travel PLC group, of which TUI fly forms part, placed an order with Boeing for 15 new 787 Dreamliners. The first aircraft was delivered to our United Kingdom-based sister company Thomson Airways at the end of May 2013.
In December 2013, TUI fly was the first and only Belgian airline company to receive a Dreamliner. The aircraft is revolutionary. Insiders call it the most groundbreaking airliner of the past few decades thanks to the use of composite materials, which makes the aircraft lighter, more economical and less polluting. Combined with latest generation engines and strongly improved aerodynamics, this results in 20% less consumption, 20% less CO2 emissions and up to 60% less noise nuisance to the people living near airports compared to similar aircraft of the same generation.
Thanks to its increased range of over 15,000 km and its ability to fly for up to 17 hours, this type of aircraft allows us to easily reach our most remote destinations without having to make a stopover. The Dreamliner has replaced the oldest Boeing 767 in our fleet.
